Sunshield Awning Company has a rich history. In 1974 our founders saw a need for shade and invested their time and money into the company we have today. They had their family’s support, and took the awning industry by storm. Randy Lahr and Keith Andreas didn’t know at the time that they’d be creating a legacy that would be passed down generations, but that is exactly what happened.

Randy’s daughter, Stacey, and Keith’s son, Ben, grew up watching the company grow. They also fell in love. Ben and Stacey are the current owners of the company and their love story is unlike any others. They didn’t just create a team of two, they’ve created a team of employees, and family members turned into employees, that truly love the company. We have deep roots because of the two of them. In fact, the flower girls at their wedding, help run the office today.

From day one we have had the best support system thanks to not only family, but friends turned into family. We’ve had installers that worked for the company for years, who grew with us, learned with us, and trusted our company above others because of our history and the hard work they witnessed daily. We have so many to thank for believing in Sunshield, dedicating their time and all of their hard work to not just us, but our customers.

Sunshield Awning has been family owned and operated since 1974. The first generation started with Randy Lahr and Keith Andreas. They saw a need for shade and with the support of their families were able to shape Sunshield into what it is today. Randy’s daughter, Stacey, and Keith’s son, Ben, are our second generation and current owners. Ben and Stacey got married and the flower girls at their wedding are our third generation employees. They help run the company today. Our fourth generation is still in training and will be growing up the way most Sunshield employees do, watching screen room and patio cover installs and practicing their penmanship on Sunshield notebooks.
